Introducing Monky Temple

September 24, 2020

Since I discovered yoga I knew I wanted to do it forever, and even though I was young, I believe that when your desires truly come from the heart, you synchronize with the Universe and make them happen. So, I became a full time yoga instructor and that was a turning page.

The idea of a yoga studio is almost a “must” dream to every yoga instructor. And of course, mine too. I am not an entrepreneur or ambitious business woman, so I just kept it as a dream, I believe deep inside it was lack of self-confidence that kept me low profile. And it was until I received such great support from students, friends and family that really saw it as a possible option.

We planned for more than one year the opening of our business, the yoga studio that I wanted to lead creating a community. And then this global health and economic situation happens and things won’t go as planned. As many, life changed as we knew it, a little bit or a lot. Therefore, I exercise acceptance and adaptation to what I can do and I have in the present moment.

Monky Temple was born after combining incredible yoga trainings in Mexico, Thailand and India and teaching experiences in Dubai and Bali. But it was Indonesia that made alive a spiritual experience, a combination of being connected with nature and your true Self.

Why Monky? Monky represents a combination of a calmed and spiritual monk and a primate like the many you can find in Indonesia. Hanumanasana image helped; also, we like calling the mental state full of thoughts a monkey mind.
Why Temple? Because we want to increase the awareness of our body, our first physical and spiritual temple.

We start now as a virtual temple with guided yoga and meditation classes accomplishing the essence of our mission. We want to share our knowledge and practice from our hearts hoping there will be more awareness, self-discovery or just a nice moving body experience. Hopefully, once the pieces fit into place, the physical space will open, so stay tuned for future news.

So here it is our first step, our virtual Monky Temple. And I hope you want to be part of the evolution of this beautiful project.

I am very grateful fo my parents and sister, for my hippie philosophy of life, for my loyal friends, for my health, for my husband. And I’m also grateful for all the losses I mourned, for the tears I offered to others, for every moment of anger that made me take life changing decisions.

A special thank you to everyone that has supported and followed me. This is for you.
